Peplum has been popping up everywhere this season. And if you are scratching your head because you’ve been hearing this word but have no idea what it is, it just refers to a short ruffle attached at the waistline of a jacket, dress, or top. Just this simple touch of ruffle can really change the look of an outfit.
Here are some of my favorite peplum pieces for the spring.
The Kimchi Blue Structured Peplum Top from Urban Outfitters has pleated ruffles and contoured seaming to create a fitted and flattering silhouette. Extra detailing like the exposed zipper down the back make this simple top far from ordinary.
I love the classic look of the Alice + Olivia Victoria Peplum Dress. It has a round neckline with cap sleeves and a flared peplum sits on top of a classic pencil skirt. Perfect to take you from the office to dinner. Just pair with a blazer for a daytime office look.
Ladies..we all have those favorite strappy heels that look great but feel just painful. You know the ones. They dig into your ankle or the back of your heel and leave you with red marks, blisters and pain at the end of the night. Thanks to Foot Petals Strappy Strips, there is some relief in sight. These are a great little shoe secret. The strips have an adhesive back that you can stick on the inside of your straps to avoid the rubbing and irritation with the cushion design. They come in a variety of colors so you can match them to your shoes. Now your feet don’t have to suffer with you’re shoe straps.
Neon is having a major comeback this spring. It might seem like you’re having a flashback to the 80′s but it’s no mirage. Neon is back in a big way and it’s showing up everywhere from accessories to clothes. The only rule for wearing neon is the brighter the better. Here are a few pieces to work some neon in to your spring and summer looks.
The Ann Taylor Cheri Peeptoe Platform Pumps are classic brown pumps with a bright pop of coral pink on the sole and the heel. It’s a perfect way to bring in just a touch of neon to brighten up any outfit.
Rebecca Minkoff is embracing neon in her handbag collections. The Wallet on a Chain is not just a great color but it’s also a great concept. It’s a convertible wallet with a strap so it’s perfect for those occasions when you are carrying light and just need the contents of your wallet but want a convenient way to carry it.
The denim mini skirt is a wardrobe staple for the warm weather months. And J.Crew has given the denim skirt a neon upgrade. The Garment-Dyed Denim Mini comes in neon pink or a bright green. This versatile skirt can work for day or night.

In case you need some inspiration, here are a few of my favorites.
The Forenza Asymmetrical Tank is a casual tank for the hot summer days to pair with skinny jeans or ankle length pants. It’s soft knit with an angled and asymmetrical side panel that gives it some flair. Buy | $34.90
If you are looking for comfort, the Striped Dolman Easy Tee is the shirt for you. The soft relaxed tee is comfortable to wear while still being fashionable and flattering. It comes in purple or spicy orange. This is definitely a tee that will become a weekend regular. Buy | $34.90
The Drew Ankle Pant is the perfect cropped pant for summer. I just love the bright red color that is sure to add some spice to your work wardrobe. Buy | $52.43
The shift dress is one of the most versatile dress styles. The Colorblock Shift in coral and peach can be paired with flat sandals for a more casual day look or throw it under a blazer with your favorite wedge heels for the office or a night out on the town. Buy | $89.90
The rain boot is no longer just a functional shoe to keep your feet dry. The rain boot has gotten a fashion upgrade. With so many styles, colors, and designers jumping in to the rain boot game, the shoe has definitely undergone a transformation to mix fashion with function.
Springtime is the perfect time to invest in a new pair of rain boots. Here are 5 rain boots that will not only keep your feet dry but will also make a statement.
You can’t have a list of rain boots without Hunter. Hunter boots are the quintessential classic rubber rain boot. They are well-made and durable and come in a variety of color and heights. I like the Original Short Gloss. They have the classic Hunter label on the front with buckle accents around the side.
Rain boots are very practical but it doesn’t mean they have to be boring. The Ted Baker Mardea boots are tall black boots that look more like a riding boot than a rain boot. The white bows on the side add a cute girly accent to the boots. The bows are detachable so you can decide when you want to accessorize.
There’s very little that you can’t find in animal print so why would rain boots be any exception? The Dirty Laundry Raindrop Jungle boots are cheetah animal print so you can fiercely take on any weather conditions.
You’ll be seeing spots (in a good way of course!) with the Chooka Posh Dots tall boots. They come in either navy and white or yellow and white, two perfect color combinations for the spring and summer.
Sam Edelman, the women’s shoe designer who makes his mark in every shoe with his signature along the inside sole, has teamed up with Ann Taylor Loft for a new exclusive collection. From boots to pumps and sandals and flats, the collection offers a wide range of styles for every shoe lover. Here are a few of my favorites from the new line.
The Rose Gemstone Thong Sandals have a slight wedge so they aren’t totally flat and the glossy gemstones that adorn the front give them just the right amount of sparkle.
The espadrille wedge is one of my favorite summer shoe styles so it’s no surprise that I am loving the Annabel Strappy Wedges. The straps and leather braiding up the front come together at the buckle ankle strap giving off a very gladiator look to these wedges. They would look great with skinny jeans or your favorite summer maxi dress.
What first caught my eye with the Mabel Espadrille Peeptoe Sandals was the color. You can’t go wrong with this bright coral rose for the summer. And these aren’t your average peeptoe heels. They have a braided espadrille heel giving them a unique look.
I am forever in a battle of keeping fresh herbs fresh. I love to cook with fresh herbs. It makes such a difference to the flavor of your food. But whenever I buy fresh herbs from the grocery store, I never know how to store them properly to make them last longer than just for one recipe. This set of three Herb Pods is genius. They are supposed to make your herbs last for up to three weeks. You just transfer the herbs in to these storage devices which are filled at the bottom with water. But what’s really great about these is that they are designed to fit right in the fridge. You don’t have to worry about the water spilling or the herbs getting damaged. Now you can evoke your inner Top Chef have fresh herbs for all your recipes.
Spring is officially upon us which means summer is close behind. If your skin needs a little pick-me-up from a cold winter check out the bareMinerals Bronzed Beauty three piece collection. It’s perfect to add a little bronze glow to your skin. The collection comes with the Faux-Tan Radiance All-Over Face Color and brush to sweep across your face to get an even bronzed tint. And you can’t forget about your lips so there is also the LipGloss in Sugar Glaze that has SFP 15 to get your lips sun-ready.
