When I was younger and against wearing blazers because I thought they were “uncool” and stuffy, I used to always go for a vest when a formal event popped up. I always thought it was stylish and great alternative and a good way to make you standout in a crowd full of coated men while still looking formal. I haven’t worn a vest in years because I’d gotten over my fear of looking uncool and started wearing blazers.
