Today you can catch up on two great tv shows and two horror films.

a. If there is one show I keep hearing about and how great it is, it’s Mad Men. The show, set in the 60’s, is about brilliant executive Don Draper (Jon Hamm) working at the New York advertising agency Sterling Cooper, where he is a free smoking, egotistical man’s man as well as a women’s man too! If you’ve missed season one, you can catch up on that and Mad Men: Season 2 ($24.49) which comes out today and find out what the Golden Globe-winning drama is all about and if it lives up to the hype.
b. In the supernatural thriller, The Haunting in Connecticut ($22.99), Virginia Madsen and Martin Donovan move their family into a house with “a bit of history.” Based on a true story of a series of shocking paranormal events, the creep factor is high and will definitely have you on the edge of your seat.
c. One film that’s been high on my list of must see movies has been the film [Rec] ($17.49). If you’ve enjoyed Cloverfield or the recent American remake of this film, Quarantine, then you must check out what originated those films point of view look. When residents and firefighters become quarantined in a Barcelona apartment building with a reporter and her cameraman, Pablo, a horde of ravenous zombies start popping up and residents must stay alive while trying to get out of a building that no one what’s them to leave. Shot from the cameraman Pablo’s point of view, this movie will have you in the middle of the action feeling like you stepped into the apartment and are running for your life.
d. Some of the best shows are not on network tv and if you only keep your eyes on the big 3 networks, then you’ve been missing a bunch of good shows. One such show is TNT’s Leverage. If you missed season 1, your in luck because Leverage: The First Season ($22.99) is on DVD today, just in time to catch up before season two starts tomorrow. Timothy Hutton stars as the leader of a robin hood gang of crooks turned good, targeting criminals who rip off people and giving the victims “Leverage” when the police and lawyers can no longer help.
