With all the media attention surrounding Adam Lambert’s American Music Awards performance, one might forget that Lambert was actually the runner-up in last season’s ‘American Idol’. The actual winner, Kris Allen, has his self-titled debut album out too and while it doesn’t have all the glamour and fanfare that Lambert carries with him, it’s actually a good album. It’s comprised of alternative, guitar and piano driven songs that showcase both Allen’s voice and talent in playing both instruments. Allen may not stir up much controversy, but his musical talents steal the show with his first album.
