Discovery Design Your Own Lamp

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Sometimes it is hard to find specific home decor pieces that match your style exactly. So why not just design your own? The Discovery Design Your Own Lamp is the perfect opportunity to add some of your very own design elements into your house. The lamp has a clear plastic around it that you can slip in artwork photos or paper of your choice to create the design on the lamp. What’s great about this also is if your mood or your style changes after a couple of months you can easily update the lamp accordingly with some new pictures or art. This is a great way to release that inner creativity and you may even get some lamp orders from your impressed guests.

Make A Furoshiki Wine Carrier

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

With Philadelphia’s Restaurant Week coming up soon, I plan to attend a BYOB restaurant but I always feel weird just carrying the wine in the plastic or paper bag they give to me at the store. Being as I don’t have a wine carrier to transport my vino, I usually just brown bag it and deal with the consequences of looking like a wino.

I found this cool video over at Dr Vino’s Wine Blog that could be the answer to a cheap wine carrier that will save me from embarrassment. In the video they use a Furoshiki which are pretty popular in Japan because they can be reused and offer an alternative to plastic bags. Now all I have to do is find a furoshiki.
