No need to worry about the sophomore slump with Adele and her follow up to “19″ her debut album. Her new album, “21″ shows the growth that can happen in just two short years. While this new album will introduce many to Adele, I’d be remissed to not mention how her first album accomplished what’s hard to do in the age of digital singles – give you an album you can listen to from start to finish.
With the help of producers like Paul Epworth (Cee-Lo Green, Florence and the Machine), Rick Rubin (Justin Timberlake, Public Enemy, Johnny Cash) and Ryan Tedder (Beyonce, Leona Lewis), “21″ continues what Adele calls “heartbroken soul” and further separates her from Amy Winehouse and Duffy, which when she arrived on the scene, she was compared too.
Rolling in the Deep
The first single, Rolling In The Deep will have you tapping your toes with it’s up tempo groove, but don’t over look the lyrics. This song is about a lover scorned.
He Won’t Go
The Rick Rubin produced “He Won’t Go” brings classic soul and fuses it with neo soul all while making it sound fresh with minimal production.
Rumour Has It
Rumour Has It, produced by Ryan Tedder is another favorite from the album which freatures banging drums and a bluesy anthem break down.
When I first listened to “19″ I couldn’t stop telling people about this new singer Adele and was disappointed that no one had heard of her. I’m sure with “21″ more people will know who I’m talking about.
