Large Double Layered Platter

You won’t believe us when we tell you what this platter plate is made of! It is completely recycled copper and salvaged traffic signs, fused together to create this unique design. The Large Double Layered Platter can be displayed on a wall, as it is ready for hanging straight from the box. Or display it on your favorite table or in your breakfront! Whatever you do with this plate, it is certain to be the only one out there and who can argue with that when it is so different than anything you have ever seen? And the added bonus (we love those!) is, you are helping the environment with purchasing a completely recycled item!

Mario Bologna

These shoes are completely and totally “city sheikh!” They remind me of a shopping extravaganza in SoHo or even an important meeting uptown! The Mario Bologna Ballerina Flat is made of the finest Italian leather and feature a sophisticated buckle and braided trim. If you think the outside of the shoe is adorable, wait until you set your eyes on the inside. It is a cutesy floral print that certainly completes this refined and yet super pretty shoe!

Gucci G Chronograph Watch

While in Atlantic City on vacation, I had the fortune to look at this Gucci G Chronograph Watch in person and I must say, I’m not the kind of people who would pay a lot for a watch but if I were too, this would be the one I’d get. The one I saw was black and not nearly as cool as this one. I really like the Green/red/green Roman numerals at six and twelve o’clock and the Red leather strap. It also a has a “G” on the face with the inside replacing the number 3 and sapphire crystals in the place of the remaining numbers. What I don’t like about it is the price tag, but if anyone wants to get it for me, I wouldn’t complain!

Twilight Sleep Sofa

Living in an apartment really makes you start exploring and testing space saving strategies. When you don’’t have enough space for all the fabulous furniture you would like to have, you need to start looking for pieces that can serve many purposes while leaving enough space to move around. One problem I seem to have is where friends should sleep when they crash at my apartment since I don’t have a spare bed. This Design Within Reach Twilight Sleep Sofa would be a perfect investment. It can be a sofa, a daybed, a full bed, –take your pick. The bolster pillow is also adjustable for three different positions depending on which is most comfortable. The piece of furniture was actually designed for a furniture competition that took place in Denmark. And, if I had any part in the judging, this would have definitely been my pick. It also has wheels on the back legs so it is easy to move around. What more could you ask from a piece of furniture?

Marc by Marc Jacobs Slouch Boot: Damn Hot or Damn Shame?

Marc by Marc Jacobs Slouch Boot

So the saying goes - ‘you can’t judge a book by its cover’ which I guess for the fashion world can be translated into ‘you can’t judge fashion by the name on the label.’ Just because something is a designer brand doesn’t necessarily mean it is a must-have. Take the Marc by Marc Jacobs Shoes Slouch Boot which I think are a good demonstration of the above mentioned motto. I don’t know what to think about these. I personally have not been a fan of the slouch boot style so maybe I am just not looking at these with an open mind, but, to me, they look like leg warmers sewn into the inside seam of a shoe. The bottom shoe part is brown leather with a brown suede top that has elastic which is pulled together and tied to make them stay up on your calves. Maybe they look really good once you try them on but I don’t think I could pull them off and I am not sure I would want to try.

But we do realize and respect that everyone has their own eye for fashion so we want to know what you think about these boots! Tell us how you really feel by taking our short poll below or by leaving a comment.

Benches don’t have to be ugly. Take the Botanist Flora Bench for instance. It’s powder coated with a floral graphic at one end and comes in four colors, black, blue, red and white. Cut from one piece of aluminum then bent to shape, you can get it in either the powder coated finish as mentioned or faced with a wood veneer. Also suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
