TIS THE SEASON - Men’s Specialty Sandals
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008
Tis the season to form armpit circles of sweat after a mere saunter to the mailbox for your 20% off coupon from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. A simple twenty yards down a driveway and twenty yards back equals shower time. Ahhhh, summer . . . isn’t it refreshing!
With the dog days of summer upon us, I have two suggestions: 1) Wear as little as possible 2) Drink the seasonal brew beverage, Festina Peche, from the Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. However, when handed this tasty and tart brewery delight, one needs to be able to crack it open. Assuming that suggestion number one has been followed, a lack of clothing normally means a lack of pockets. In turn, less pockets equals no bottle opener. Bottomline, who’s going to open up the Peachy beer!

Introducing the flip-flop with a bottle opener. Since that doesn’t sound cool enough for the room, here’s the official name: Reef Fanning Bottle Opener Flops. Even without the “flip” to the “flop”, it still doesn’t seem to hip it up enough. Nevertheless, the magical name of “Reef” is seen here, who are the same shoemakers that have delivered other cushiony fun footwear for the ball and sole.
Abiding by suggestion number one, these sandals count towards wearing as little as possible. Then, due to the lack of convenience to be lugging around a bottle cap opener, why not slam it up underneath the sandal. Does it work? Yes. Does anything get caught up in it? No. Should one believe this writer? Yes.

An apology has to be made for the prior usage of the word “Introducing”. These beer aiding thong sandals have been around for well over a year. However, the writer (reporter, author, whatever) felt obligated to battletest them. To beaches, boardwalks, and backyard bar-b-ques, they were worn. Not only were the feet comfortable, but the owner of these dogs became an instant hit.
“Need that beverage opened?” states the flop bearing stud.
“Why yes!” is the quick answer along with an outstretched arm, hand, and bottled beer.
Once the beer is securely in hand, the foot instinctively kicks up and crosses over the other leg. The bottle is then dramatically dropped down to the underside of the thonged wonder. A clinking sound can be heard as the cap is locking into place. Finally, the hand bearing bottle is snapped upwards.
“POP!”
“Wow . . . thanks!” With a look of amazement, the next question is then always posed, “Where did you get those sandals?”
They’re comfortable, they’re hip, they’re Reef Fanning Bottle Opener Flops. Only suggestion - they shouldn’t be worn in backyards bearing poodles who don’t know how to do their duty in the brush. In fact, just don’t go in those yards at all. Instead keep looking for the one with the Dogfish Head Brew. Now, do you need that Peachy beer opened up for you?

Royce Leather Pocketbook Jewelry Case
Thursday, June 19th, 2008
I recently went away for a long weekend trip and while I love traveling I really hate packing. I am a bad packer. I always overpack and I am not capable of planning outfits in advance so I need to bring a lot of options and end up coming home with only half of my suitcase used. One thing that I recently had issues with during this recent trip was packing my accessories. I used a number of different bags and cases to pack my earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets. They all ended up arriving in one jumbled mess with tangled necklaces and all. I realized that it is way past time to invest in a jewelry travel case. I think that this Royce Leather Pocketbook Jewelry Case seems like a very functional and organized option. It opens up and has compartments for all of your jewelry. What I like the most are the necklace hooks to actually hang them rather than risking them becoming tangled. It’s a sophisticated and sleek case and can lay right in your suitcase or in your carry on. Sometimes the accessories make the outfit. Here is a way to make sure they arrive in one piece with you.

Schick Quattro for Women
Tuesday, June 17th, 2008
Summertime means showing off your legs and that means you can’t get away with going a couple days without shaving like you can in the winter because you wear pants all the time. It is important to find yourself a good razor that can take you throughout the summer and keep your legs smooth and stubble-free. A few years ago for reasons I can’t quite remember, I stopped using a regular razor with the refillable cartridges and started using just disposable razors. They get the job done but sometimes not without creating some nicks or scratches and rough legs at times.
We were recently sent the Schick Quattro for Women to try out. I thought that it was time for a change and that my legs could probably benefit from something a little more refined. It first enticed my by the color of the razor - pink and grey - which is a winning color combination in my book! As I took it out of the case the first thing I noticed was the thickness of the handle which is key for maintaining a good grip while shaving and not having the razor slide out from under your fingertips. The second thing I noticed was the handy shower hanger with a suction cup that it comes with so you can hang it right from the shower wall for easy access. I must say that the actual shaving process has not felt so smooth in awhile. I think it was due in a large part to the fact that this razor has 4 blades to get a good and even shave and it also has 2 conditioning strips that have Aloe and Vitamin E and B5 on them so as you are shaving your legs you are getting instant moisture and nutrients to keep them looking soft and healthy. The razor also has a pivoting head so you don’t have to struggle with getting the back of your legs or the contours around your ankle which is always a tricky spot for me.
Overall, I would definitely highly recommend this razor if you are looking for a new one to try this summer. My legs are feeling really smooth and I have not had any nicks or cuts. Because after all, no one wants to wear a band-aid as an accessory this summer!

Luggage with Built-in Seat
Thursday, June 12th, 2008
Now this may look a little weird and not too fashionable but I think the concept of it is ingenious. It is a suitcase with a built-in seat on the back of it. How many times are you at the airport and the terminal is packed and you are just standing around waiting until your flight boards? With this Luggage with Built-in Seat, you won’t have to worry about finding a seat at all. It has 4 wheels so it is easy to transport and has a flip out molded seat which is durable for up to 400 pounds. If you travel a lot for business or pleasure this might be something to add to your travel list.

41 Piece Complete Kitchen Utensil Set
Friday, June 6th, 2008
I’ve talked about how much I like the kitchen-in-a-box idea, but what if you don’t need the whole kitchen? What if your pots and pans are in good shape? What if it’s the utensils that need to be replaced? While I’m sure this Complete Kitchen Utensil Set might not be the best of quality, it can still do a good enough for a second kitchen, or starting a kitchen on a budget. The set comes with 41 pieces including, a cutting board, measuring cups, can opener, an assortment of knives and much more. This is a great way to supplement some of the things you need with out breaking the bank.

FatGirlSleep From Bliss
Thursday, May 22nd, 2008
I was flipping through a recent Sephora catalog that I got in the mail and I did a double-take when I saw this product mainly because of the name. It’s called FatGirlSleep and it’s from Bliss. I thought the name of the product was funny and catchy but it also seems like it has some great benefits as well. It is an overnight skin firming cream. Apparently, studies have shown that if you didn’t get enough sleep it can cause weight-gain and an increase of the hormone that makes you want to eat. That can be what I blame now! This cream will help you fight cellulite while you sleep and it also is infused with a lavender scent which is supposed to make you relaxed while you sleep.
