I have been trying to cook more to save money from constantly ordering and eating out. I have become a Food Network junkie and like trying different recipes that I see made on there. While they might not always look as good as they do on TV, they usually have always end up tasting good which is a good thing so I consider it a success. One thing I always struggle with is reading off the printed recipe or cookbook in the kitchen while I am trying to cook. My kitchen is really small so there is very limited space and I can never find a good spot to prop up the cookbook where it won’t get the way and where I can have easy access to it. I usually end up keeping it on the dining room table and have to run back and forth every time I need to see the next step in the recipe which gets really annoying. I found this Cookbook Stand from Crate & Barrel which I think is a really good idea and investment if you do a lot of cooking out of cookbooks. It’s cherry stained wood with a lucite panel to protect the book from cooking splatter. If your have resolved to improve your diet for the New Year than I can pretty much predict that you have been eating more salads than before. While salads are a great way to watch your weight and eat some good greens and vegetables the salad dressing can take what were good intentions and turn them into not so good results. After I graduated from college, I figured it was time to accept maturity, to a certain extent at least! Part of life in my mid-twenties included embracing wine - better wine, not boxed! In addition to finding new and great wines that stimulate my pallet, I love finding big and bold wine glasses because I think you need a really good glass to enjoy your wine.
