City Style Argyle Sweater Vest
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008
I am a big fan of layering. I think when done right and avoiding bulkiness in your layering, you can create a really good and sophisticated look. The sweater vest is a must have for layering. New York & Company’s City Style Argyle Sweater Vest is a classic. It’s sleeveless and v-neck with an argyle print on the front in pink, grey and white, or yellow, grey and green. New York & Company has this vest paired with a white three-quarter length button down that has a bow-tie front that lays right over the v-neck of the vest. You can also layer the vest over a traditional button-down shirt for a great office look.

Summer Wrap Sweater
Wednesday, July 30th, 2008
I always have a dilemma in the summer because it gets so hot outside but when I go out and am somewhere with air conditioning I end up getting chilly. I have a constant struggle trying to keep my body temperature in check. A sweater like the Summer Wrap Sweater would be perfect to bring out on those hot nights when you are going somewhere and might get cold from the air conditioner. It’s really light weight so you won’t look like you are wearing something that should be worn in the winter. It can be worn tied in the front, untied, or even wrapped in the back so it is really versatile depending on our outfit and the look you want to go for. It comes in white and black - the perfect neutral colors so you can wear it with anything.

Sylvan Scene Cardigan
Monday, July 28th, 2008
This is officially THE most adorable little sweater I have ever set eyes on. It’s from Anthropologie, the store where everything is amazing, unique, and not to mention, requiring a much bigger checking account than I maintain. This is my “if I had endless stacks of money…” store. Being a teacher I, sadly, have no stacks of money, but I can still dream!
The Sylvan Scene Cardigan is a sweet, cap sleeve solution to your autumn wardrobe deficiency, assuming that you have one. Don’t we always have one? Its orange wool and oversized green buttons with painted floral design make it unmistakably “European quirky.” It’s suitable for many situations- relaxing, work, and even going out with friends. Oh, someone wants to send me $188. I just know it! I said I’m a dreamer, right?

La Redoute Creation Sheer-striped Sweater
Friday, July 25th, 2008
Sweaters are typically said to be worn only in cold weather, but we love any type of sweater that can be used all year round. This La Redoute Creation Sheer-striped Sweater is so versatile that you can wear it come spring, summer, fall or winter. Use it to layer with other shirts, or wear by itself. It is a great option when bringing along a long sleeved shirt on a crisp cool evening. It is made of silky rayon and works to create an almost sheer effect. Match this sweater up with many bottoms you may already own; jeans, black pants, skirts galore. There is not much that won’t work with a sweater of this capability.

Heart Cable Cardigan
Thursday, November 29th, 2007
Pour your heart (not your wallet) out with this two-button Heart Cable Sweater. It is a different approach to the traditional cardigan. Although much shorter and compact that your everyday cardigan, it still packs in the warmth and coziness and releases tons of cuteness! Wear it as shown with your standard turtleneck or if high necks aren’t your thing (as it certainly is not mine), we suggest a great button down (collar up or down is your choice). In a world of fashion where over sized shirts are ruling the nation, it’s a breath of fresh air to see something come into style that is more snug than your everyday maternity (appearing) wear. And while we do love both styles, something that is as contemporary and sophisticated as this makes us smile from ear to ear! A great addition to any everyday jeans ensemble for sure.

Shawl-Collar Fleece Popover
Wednesday, October 31st, 2007
I keep getting J.Crew fall catalogues in the mail and every time I see it, I know it is not going to be good for my budget. And sure enough, each time I open it I see at least 5 new things to obsess over before finally succumbing and purchasing them. One of the new things that I saw and really liked is this Shawl-Collar Fleece Popover sweater. It comes in a variety of color options and is made out of fleece cotton, which is a perfect addition to your winter wardrobe. It’s a fitted pullover with three quarter length sleeves and a large front pocket. It has an oversized folded collar forming a v-neck so you can definitely layer another shirt under this.

Cashmere Bateau Sweater
Monday, October 15th, 2007
Nothing feels better on your skin than cashmere. I was one of those people who didn’t understand what the big deal was and refused to pay the price. That is until I tried on a cashmere sweater and couldn’t believe how great it felt and looked. So now I am always on the lookout for cashmere pieces even if I can’t always afford them, they are always on my wish list. The Cashmere Bateau Sweater from J. Crew is lightweight Italian cashmere with a classic vintage neckline, three quarter length sleeves and three button enclosures on the back neckline. Available in a variety of colors, the sweater will work from the office to a dinner out after work.
